Dissolvable Tobacco Products Orbs Stonewall Ariva

There is a new product that may ween people off of tobacco addiction much like what the patch does. But like sunflower seeds and lemon drops, these are oral. But they aren’t intended to stop addiction.

They are called Dissolvables or dissolvable tobacco products and they come in sticks, strips and flavored mints. These are smokeless tobacco. They are intended to replace cigarettes when smoking is banned.

Star Scientific Inc. is marketing their versions as Stonewall and Ariva. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. are calling theirs Camel Strips and Camel orbs.

There is a real concern that kids will get a hold of these and easily conceal them. the threat of addiction to nicotine is very justified.

The first Food and Drug Administration meeting lays the groundwork for legality of these new nicotine delivery products.

The fear besides addicting a whole new generation to these candy like products is poisoning. Oral delivery product result in ingestion of nicotine, causing nicotine poisoning especially in small people like kids and teens.

There is also the real danger of throat, gum and stomach cancer as some studies have linked to chewing tobacco.

R.J. Reynolds is well aware of theĀ dissolvable tobacco products possible liabilities with kids. they have notified poison control centers of their products and use child resistant packaging, to reduce accidental usage by minors.

The FDA is expected to approve the products for sale as they should in a free market. But the manufacturers may have to reduce the single piece nicotine content as a concession.

Treatment2012.com has no doubt that this will reduce the number of smokers. But nicotine addiction will continue to grow, just in a less offensive form to others.
