Blocked Ringing Ear Syndrome

Some research into tinnitus, branches out into ways to improve the tolerance of loud noises essentially desiring to prevent a blocked ringing ear.

This may seem strange as to why money would be spent to increase tolerance to loud noises.  But the reality is that many professions, including the military do not have the option of working in a quiet environment.

In December of 2008, researchers released a report that implied some success in stimulating hair cell growth in the inner ear of mice.  What they did was manipulate a certain protein found in these hair cells of mice.  Through this manipulation, they found that these altered mice were now able to withstand loud noises.  Although this new ability was most certainly a minuscule improvement, It was indeed a improvement.

Until the time that prevention is possible, it is currently possible to treat a blocked ringing ear with blood pressure lowering supplementation such as magnesium or possibly vinposetine.

magnesium isn’t the only good supp get the complete list.

  1. Tim @ Get Tinnitus Relief says:

It appears that one of the reasons it has been so hard to find a cure for tinnitus is that it is a symptom of something else going on int the body. If you look a the list of things that can cause it or make it worse then you will understand that there will never be a magic bullet for tinnitus. However, there is a lot that a person can do -things like diet exercise, stress reduction, medication management, etc. I would recommend that on try to identify potential causative factors (make your best guess)and work on correcting that. If you get relief great. If not, make your next best guess and so on. If you focus on the problem long enough you will likely find a solution.

Nearly 36 million Americans suffer from this disorder. In almost all cases, only the patient can hear the noise.

Therefore, a visit to your doctor is extremely important to identify the origin of your problem as that only will determine the line of treatment. This said, it is important to state here that there is very little you or your doctor can do to cure tinnitus. All you can hope for is controlling and treating the underlying causes.

Utilize masking noise. Tinnitus is usually more bothersome when the surroundings are quiet, especially when you are in bed. A competing sound such as a ticking clock, a radio, a fan or white noise machine may help mask tinnitus. Small hearing aid like devices which generate a competitive sound may help reduce the awareness of the tinnitus. One may combine such maskers along with herbal & homeopathic remedies for complete relief from tinnitus by attacking the bothersome symptoms from all corners.

Some herbal remedies exist which can be used to support all body systems involved in helping the ear to perform its tasks of clear hearing and balance, as well as the circulatory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems.

Some of the most common herbs & biochemic tissue salts used are
    • Ginkgo Biloba is excellent for a number of cerebral and circulatory disorders. It is probably the most widely-used herb for tinnitus and many sufferers swear by this natural ingredient.
    • Rosemary dilates and strengthens blood vessels and is an excellent circulation tonic. Rosemary is particularly useful for tinnitus that is caused or worsened by high blood pressure and other circulatory conditions.
    • Avena Sativa is effective in reducing high cholesterol levels which can contribute to circulatory problems which cause tinnitus.
    • Wild Hyssop s also useful in reducing pain and inflammation.
    • Salicylic Ac. (30C) is indicated for tinnitus with loud roaring or ringing sounds, which may be accompanied by deafness or vertigo. This remedy is particularly useful in people whose symptoms began with a bout of flu, Meniere’s disease or long-term use of aspirin.
    • Ferrum phosphoricum (Ferrum phos. D6) is a homeopathic biochemic tissue salt which supports the absorption of iron in the body. The protective myelin sheath which surrounds all nerve tissue needs iron to supply this vital nutrient to the nerve cells it encases. Regular use of Ferrum phos. can help to prevent dizziness, headaches and restlessness and is of great benefit for those who tend to feel irritable, tense and tired.
    • Magnesium phosphate (Mag. phos. D6) well-known as a homeopathic painkiller, Mag. phos. is also of great benefit to the health of the nerves. It acts as a natural anti-spasmodic and a nerve and muscle relaxant and is also frequently recommended for stress headaches.

  3. I’ve had trouble with that for a long time! Does it really work and fix the ringing? I’ve been to a doctor but nothing has helped yet…
